This machine was created entirely by hand during my residency with Kuntstort ELEVEL Artspace in southern Germany.
I chose wood as the material due to it’s ease to work with, and given the access to technical resources, it felt fitting to use natural materials.
The principle of operation is similar to a mechanical clock, with falling weights delivering power to the system, and a classic anchor escapement to control the delivery of that power.
